Jorge Luiz Lopes do Canto
He has a law degree at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), concluded in 1985, a specialization in Corporate Finance at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), concluded in 1996, and a Master's degree in Law at Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS), concluded in 2001. He currently exercises his profession as a lawyer and is also a guest lecturer at Escola Superior de Magistratura (AJURIS). Throughout his career, he served as a State Judge for 36 years, of which about 28 years in the specialized area of Corporate Law, working in the Bankruptcy Court, the 5th Civil Chamber and the 3rd Group of TJRS.
His professional career focuses on Private Law, with emphasis in Corporate Law. His main fields of expertise cover topics such as corporate law, bankruptcy, company restructuring, trademarks and patents, intellectual property, insurance and civil liability.
He believes that the knowledge and experience acquired over the years, together with the search for continuous improvement, are valuable resources to help promote a fair solution to the case under analysis.
